Sleepless In South London by Nigel Planer and The Values featuring Johnny Turnbull

Sleepless in South London is sung by Nigel Planer who is a Brit Award Winner and much loved for his characters Den Dennis in The Comic Strip Presents... Bad News, the actor Nicholas Craig, and as Neil the Hippie in The Young Ones. The song was written by Mikey Georgeson (of David Devant & His Spirit Wife, The Civilised Scene, and The Middle People) the lyrics are by the artist Harry Pye. The bass on this track is played by Clare Kenny (who has worked with Indigo Girls, Orange Juice & Edwyn Collins, Amazulu, Roddy Frame and many others). Photographer Julian Wakeling plays acoustic guitar on the track. Francis Macdonald (of Teenage Fanclub) and Hugh Macdonald provided the percussion. Johnny Turnbull (of The Blockheads, World Party, Talk Talk, Skip Bifferty, Bob Geldof's Band, Paul Young, Dave Stewart's Spiritual Cowboys and many others plays lead guitar. The track was mixed by Francis Macdonald. Colin Gibson and Chris Tosic provided essential help with the recording and production.

This video by Gordon Beswick features the art and music of Francis Macdonald and Harry Pye. In February 2014 the drawings were exhibited and the video was screened as part of the "This Is Our Art, This Is Our Music" exhibition at The David Risley Gallery in Copenhagen which also included contributions from R. "The Mainstream Gallery"

"Nine Lives" was the inaugural show at The Mainstream Gallery in Autumn 2016. The exhibition featured the work of nine great artists; Barney Bubbles, Mel Cole, Russell Herron, Phil King, Cathy Lomax, Erica Macarthur, David Shrigley,Julian Wakeling, and Roeland Zijlstra. The Mainstream Gallery is a ten minute walk from Ramsgate train station. This video was filmed and edited by Gordon Beswick. Sax by Paul Speare.
